Abby's First Day of Kindergarten
The day FINALLY arrived! She has been looking forward to this day for a year or more and the day finally arrived! Her teacher called her the day before school started and welcomed her to her class. Abby was almost starstruck and almost at a loss for words. All she could say was, "I'm so excited for school!" The next morning, our routine went smoothly- just like we planned it- then Paul walked her and the babies all the way to her classroom. When she came home, she couldn't wait to tell us everything. She told us about the book her teacher read about Splat the Cat and about singing songs. She told me, "I'm just trying to tell you the truth about everything that really happened at school" and she struggled to remember EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. She brought home a little welcome to school picture she had colored and on the back she had written, "1+1=2 2+2=4 4+4=8. They hadn't actually learned that, she just finished coloring early and wanted to "practice maths". She has two little friends from church in her same class (not that Abby has a hard time making friends... I think it's one of the things I admire about her the most) which is nice for us moms. She asked me, "Will I go to school until I'm a grown-up?" and I said, "Yes." She got so happy! That just can't last can it? I hope it does. I think I learn something new from her everyday.

Cute shirt! She is such a smarty pants! (truly, not in the negative way)
You'll have to actively participate in Abby's education and make sure she is getting the proper stimulation in the classroom. I'm mean seriously, if that girl become disillusioned by the quality of her education or bored by anything, you might have to worry about subversive tactics to overthrow the administration or a smarty pants mafia, lead by our dear Abby, bent on wreaking havoc for the shear thrill of vestibular stimulation. Good luck.
Hooray! I'm so happy for her and for you. I can't imagine my little girl going to school....ever. It will be a tough day for me, I think. But Abby looks adorable and sounds like she had a wonderful time. What a grown-up little girl you have!
THat is so great! Sarah starts on Sept 1st... are you enjoying some time to yourself? hahahaha:-)I mean it's not like you have 2 babies or anything?!
Precious!!! I"ve missed you, and I'm glad to finally be able to access your blog again!
